Paso Robles, CA - Wineries
Paso Robles is one of California's most celebrated wine regions. The area is home to some well known wineries, such as Eberle and Robert Hall, but there are countless smaller wineries that make some truly extraordinary wines. If you venture into Paso, you are sure to find some well kept secrets.
I recall visiting Cass Winery for the first time. I chatted with Ted, one of the owners whose personality was larger than life. Cass's Viognier and Oasis Rose' were astoundingly good, and the food at Cass was equally wonderful. They served an amazing pulled pork sandwich, and for dessert, a brownie a la mode sprinkled with maple bacon! Yes, you read that correctly. It was delicious.
Recently, Kunal and Neeta Mittal at LXV Winery released their Rising Tempo and Viognier, which have received rave reviews from the locals of Paso Robles. Winemaker Amy Butler has created some truly wonderful wines for LXV Winery.
